  • Do not consume alcohol, hot drinks or do any exercise for 24 hours.

  • If you get any bruising, apply ice and arnica cream.

  • Do not smoke, as smoking can accelerate the breakdown of the product.

  • If you experience any prolonged pain in the area injected or change in skin colour or mottling bruise appearance, please contact me immediately for advice.

DOUBLE CHIN REDUCTION AFTERCARE

  • After your treatment, you should expect swelling and redness. You may also experience bruising, pain, numbness, and induration (firmness). This will normally last less than 5 days, and for some patients may last up to 14 days. You may have swelling of the area for up to a month. Swelling is a good sign that the treatment is working.

  • Ice and Paracetamol can be used for swelling and discomfort. Do not place ice directly onto the skin.

  • Avoid strenuous activity for 3 days after your treatment.

  • Sleeping with your head elevated for the 3nights after your treatment can help minimize swelling.

  • Do not scratch, pick at, massage or manipulate the treatment area.

  • You may apply your normal skin care regimen to the area, including cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen etc.

SKINPEN AFTERCARE

       IMMEDIATELY AFTER TREATMENT

  • There may be moderate redness, warmth and swelling that can last 1-3 days. Apply cool face cloth if required.

  • There may be bruising which can last 1-5 days. If bruising occurs, avoid medications such as Aspirin, nurofen, vitamin E or fish oils which may exacerbate bruising, for 24 hours.

  • Your skin will be more sensitive to the sun so avoid sun exposure and solarium treatments for at least 2 weeks after treatment.

  • Do not apply foundation for 24 hours as slight weeping may occur.

    OVER THE NEXT WEEK

  • Redness will settle and may be replaced by dry, tight skin. This will shed over the next week to reveal a fresh skin. You MUST NOT pick, scratch or use any exfoliant as this may damage the new skin and introduce bacteria, leading to skin infections.

  • Avoid any skincare that contains AHA, Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid or Retinoic Acid for 3-5 days. Use a bland cleanser and moisturiser morning and night, along with applying 30+ or 50+ sunscreen daily.

  • It is important to maintain a good skincare routine with frequent hydration/moisturisation.

CLINICAL PEELS AFTERCARE

  • Your recovery time will be influenced by the type of Peel you have received and your skin's individual response.

  • Avoid exercise and getting face wet for the next 24 hours.

  • For the next 5 - 10 days: NO EXFOLIATING PRODUCTS, only use products recommended to you by Skinsational Cosmetic Nursing, no anti wrinkle injections or sun exposure.

  • For the next 2 weeks: No Facial waxing, IPL, LASER, dermal fillers, microdermabrasion or epidermal levelling.

  • DO NOT PICK AT YOUR SKIN.

  • Increase your water intake.

  • Wear SPF and reapply as recommended, follow full sunsmart guidelines.

  • Do not use face washers or cloths on the skin, apply cleanser with clean hands.

VENUS VERSA AFTERCARE

Tribella & Bibella

  • Avoid make up for the first 24-48 hours and when applying make up ensure you remove it all entirely.

  • Significant swelling and redness of the treated areas and untreated parts may occur following your procedure, and will be maximal at 24 - 48 hours. To minimize swelling, keep your head elevated. It is not uncommon for clients to experience under-eye swelling for the first 1 to 2 days, but this swelling will subside.

  • There will be redness and slight heat emanating from the treated area for the first 24 hours, akin to a mild sunburn. It is unusual to experience severe or excessive pain; you should notify us if this occurs.

  • Tiny scabs will usually be formed 24 - 72 hours post-treatment, and may remain for several days. The scabs should not be touched or scratched even if they itch, and should be allowed to shed off naturally.

  • It is advised that you avoid hot baths, saunas, Jacuzzis, and pools for the first 2 days following treatment, as bacteria found in these environments could cause an infection. It is best to avoid applying ice or cooling compresses to the treated area, as the heat emanating from the skin is the body’s natural healing response.

  • Avoiding direct sun should become a permanent component of your long-term skin care program. Always use an SPF 30 or greater beginning 24 - 48 hours after the skin has fully healed. Sun exposure, tanning beds, and artificial sunless tanning lotions are not allowed in the treated areas during the course of the treatment and healing.

  • Browning or darkening of the skin pigment, and purplish or black tints to a dark pigment, as well as crusting of the pigmented area over a few days, may all occur as part of normal post-treatment healing. Crusting will flake off, and while erythema and oedema may also appear, these symptoms will resolve in 3 to 7 days.

Diamond Polar Treatment

  • While it is possible for patients to experience swelling in the under-eye area for the first day, this swelling will subside. For the first three hours, there will be redness and slight heat emanation from the treated area. It is unusual to experience severe or excessive pain; let us know if this occurs. Bruising is not common; let us know if this occurs. You should notify us if you experience pain that is severe or excessive, as this is unusual.

  • Post-treatment redness is mild, and you may return to regular activities immediately. If you experience mild heat emanating from the treated area, this is normal—do not apply ice or cooling compresses, as the heat being produced in the treated area is your body’s natural healing response

  • Moisturizer should be applied regularly throughout the course of your treatment series, and it may be applied immediately after each treatment.

  • Avoiding direct sun should become a permanent component of your long-term skin care program. Always use a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or greater, even on cloudy days, regardless of season.

IPL treatment

  • Swelling and redness may occur following your procedure for up to 24 hours. It is not uncommon for patients to experience swelling in the under-eye area for the first 1 to 2 days post-treatment.

  • You may experience some redness and slight warmth emanating from the treatment area for the first 24 hours post-treatment, akin to a mild sunburn. This is a normal part of your skin’s post-treatment healing response. However, excessive or severe pain is unusual; if this occurs, immediately notify the clinic.

  • Pigmentation: Browning or darkening of the skin pigment, and purplish or black tints to a dark pigment, as well as crusting of the pigmented area over a few days, may all occur as part of normal post-treatment healing. Crusting will flake off, and while erythema and oedema may also appear, these symptoms will resolve in 3 to 7 days.

  • Acne: A deepening in color of the treated lesions, tenderness to the lesions (if cystic), blanching/greying of vessels/vascular scars, and intense oedema and erythema may occur, lasting 5 to 10 days.

  • Moisturizer may be applied 24 hours after each treatment. Moisturizer should then be applied regularly throughout the course of your treatment program.

  • After 24 hours, most patients are able to apply makeup to hide the pinkness of the skin. It is important that you remove all makeup that is applied to the skin at night.

  • Avoid hot baths, saunas, Jacuzzis, and pools for the first 2 days following treatment, as bacteria found in these environments could cause an infection. It is best to avoid applying ice or cooling compresses to the treated area, as the heat emanating from the skin is the body’s natural healing response.

BioFiller and PRP

The autologous (your own blood product) material that has been injected into your skinfor volume restoration + regeneration is a substance extracted from your blood. Due to the significant regeneration process occurring below your skin, especially in the first 24 hours, please read this information so that you can gain maximum benefit from the procedure.

The procedure is mimicking how your body would naturally respond to an injury, but in an amplified manner because of the high platelet dose and regeneration boost that has been delivered to the target area. Patients will usually
require 1-2 Biofiller &
 PRP procedures, 8 weeks apart.

What to expect post injection:
The PRP and Biofiller procedure, with its delivery of an abundance of growth factors to the skin and the
subcutaneous tissue, works by stimulating your body’s normal healing response to an injury. As a large
platelet dose is injected, the healing and regeneration response is expected to be significant, and patients
are likely to feel some of these healing processes. Please expect the injection sites to feel similar as after
an injury, potentially with subtle soreness, tender to touch, swelling and increased warmth. These
symptoms can last for up to 3 days, then they should ease.
Every patient will have some swelling after the procedure. This is due to the body initiating an amplified
healing and regenerative process. Some patients can have a more significant response to the injected
Biofiller and PRP. It is difficult to predict who will respond with more swelling, so please contact the treating
practitioner to discuss if you feel the swelling is more than expected or if the swelling is increasing
considerably. The treating practitioner will assess, and may suggest icing for short periods to calm the
local response, anti-histamine medication if necessary & sleeping with an extra pillow for first 2 nights to
help reduce swelling. Finger-tip light sweeping massage can also help clear lymphatic fluid from the
injected facial areas.
As the swelling subsides, if you feel the volume is not perfectly positioned for your face, the Biofiller
product is very soft and malleable, and can usually be repositioned slightly by ‘sweeping’ massage, to
push it in to the desired area.

To maximise benefit from the Biofiller and PRP procedure we recommend:
- After the procedure, please do not touch the injected skin for 1 hour; or wash your face with cleansers
or apply liquid make-up for at least 12 hours post-procedure. If you need to wash your face, please
wait 4 hours - use warm water without soap.
- Do not use any products or post-procedure balms, healing gels. No further topical products are
needed.
- If you require pain relief, please use Paracetamol or Panadeine only (dose as usual for you). Please do
not use any anti-inflammatory medication (eg: Nurofen) or topical gel (eg: Voltaren) or oral steroids
(eg: Prednisone) for 7 days post procedure unless instructed by the attending Doctor.
- Patients who are on aspirin can resume it 48 hours after procedure, unless Doctor directs otherwise.
- Minimal alcohol, coffee, caffeine; no supplements that may increase bruising for 2 days post
procedure.
- Nil exercise, spa, sauna that would create a flushed face or excessive facial perspiration for 2 days
post procedure.
- As with most post-medical procedure guidelines - a healthy diet, minimal caffeine & alcohol and
adequate sleep will allow your body the best chance for a good outcome. Individual patient’s healing
response will progress at different rates depending on age, general health and skin condition.
If you have any concerns after the Biofiller procedure please call your injector. If you are unable to
contact them or the clinic, and you are concerned
that it may be an emergency, please attend a hospital
emergency department.

Potential complications include vascular occlusion and infection.
Infection - If you experience increasing swelling after 24 hours, redness, skin oozing/changes, or fever
please contact the injector or attend your GP or A&E department.
Occlusion - Although there are no reported cases of Biofiller causing a vascular occlusion (VO) at this time,
there is a hypothetical risk. If it was to occur, the VO most likely would occur during the procedure, and
your injector could see the immediate effect and arrange necessary treatment. When using HA and other
synthetic fillers (not Biofiller) there can also be delayed onset of a vascular occlusion and to be extra
cautious, we like to make Biofiller patients aware of these clinical presentations: an area of skin may go
white, or there may be an area that looks irregular in colour - like fishnet stockings, or there may be skin discolouration in another area separate to where the needle was inserted. It is best to err on the side of
caution and contact the clinic if you have any concerns and they can usually assess you for a vascular
occlusion over a video call.
If you should experience any changes with your vision, even if it might be migraine related, please contact the clinic immediately or attend Accident & Emergency for an urgent review if after-hours
