Skinsational Cosmetic Nursing pride ourselves on having experienced Registered Nurses with specialised training in assessment, selection, administration and aftercare of non-surgical, cosmetic products. As Registered Health Practitioners, we are able to perform a variety of treatments to help with common health conditions,  such as Jaw Clenching/Teeth Grinding, Hyperhidrosis (Excessive sweating) and Hay fever Relief.

Our Nurses are available to provide free consultations, full-face assessments, along with advice on all aspects of skincare, non-surgical aesthetic and advanced skin rejuvenation treatment options.

At Skinsational Cosmetic Nursing, we can provide consultations for the treatment of wrinkles, volume loss to the face or volume enhancement to the lips.

Changes to advertising our aesthetic treatments

On 7th March 2024, the Therapeutic Goods of Australia (TGA) released new regulations in regard to advertising for the cosmetic injectable industry.

These new regulations prohibit us from using generic terms such as “anti-wrinkle injections” or “dermal fillers”. The reason for this, is these medications are prescription only and it is a breach to advertise prescription medicines.

It also means we can no longer share our before and after results for advertising or discuss pricing for any of our injectable treatments we offer. This includes social media, emails and websites.

We understand it is frustrating as a patient when you are not able to see results, price lists, or really obtain any type of information online, when seeking out aesthetic treatments.

It is going to make marketing our business very difficult moving forward, but we’re committed to following these new guidelines while continuing to offer the exceptional service and care you've come to expect from us.

We are still able disclose information during a face to face consultation, including showing you our treatment results and discuss pricing tailored to your concerns.

Please understand we are not trying to be secretive or misleading in any way if we ask you to come in for a consultation rather than giving any information out online.

Thanks for your patience while we navigate these new changes.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Treatment

A PRP procedure uses your own blood and is made famous by Kim Kardashian and many other A-listers. In dermatology and cosmetic medicine, PRP has been used to treat overall health, tone and elasticity of the skin; reducing fine facial wrinkles / lines; minimizing the appearance of scars / acne scarring; reducing under-eye dark circles / hollows; decreasing the visible signs of aged and sun damaged skin; promoting even skin tone and texture; addressing mild collagen and volume loss.

The most popular area to be treated with PRP is for a full face rejuvenation, however PRP can be me also used to treat the neck, décolletage, backs of hands, forearms, elbows, knees as well as stretch marks on the abdomen, breasts, thighs and buttocks.

As well as being used for skin rejuvenation, PRP is also commonly used to treat hair loss. When PRP is injected into the scalp the application of PRP causes miniaturized hair follicles to become healthier and larger, producing more robust hair growth. PRP activates follicular progenitor cells (adult stem cells) and promotes angiogenesis and localised cell growth.

At Skinsational Cosmetic Nursing, we use the Alocuro PRO-PRP technology to provide a unique system for superior platelet extraction efficiency so that maximum growth factors can be introduced in the exact location that you'd like your skin to be repaired and rejuvenated.

A topical anaesthetic cream will be applied to the area to ensure minimal discomfort during the procedure. PRP therapy begins by first drawing your own blood into a specially prepared test tube and the blood is then spun down in a special machine called a centrifuge to separate out the platelets. Our highly skilled nurse injector then injects the platelets into the treatment area. There, the activated platelets release growth factors, which facilitate cell growth, the formation of blood capillaries and, most importantly, the building of new collagen.

After Hair Rejuvenation treatment you will receive a soothing scalp massage, which can then be followed with our LED add on treatment to help with any inflammation, accelerate the healing and help as a pain relief.

PDO MONO THREADS

PDO Mono Threads or 'short threads' is a non-surgical, skin tightening and rejuvenation treatment, made from a material called Polydioxanone - an absorbable polymer (dissolvable suture) that is flexible and durable.

PDO Mono Threads at Skinsational Cosmetic Nursing in Wangaratta

PDO Threads are inserted into the sub dermal level, in a mesh-like pattern, to promote the creation of new collagen. The threads activate collagen synthesis which produces a gradual skin thickening, skin tightening and rejuvenation effect of improving skin texture. The threads become a support structure (a bit like scaffolding on a building) that allows collagen production to increase. This provides the skin with a tighter feel and appearance and more of a youthful look.

Results may be seen in 6 weeks and will continue to improve over 2 to 6 months. While the threads slowly dissolve, their effects may last up to 12 months.

The ideal candidate for PDO threads is aged 25 – 65. It can be done as a treatment for a suitably volumised patient who needs tightening or skin improvement, or as a preventive procedure to prevent the face from sagging. PDO threads are unsuitable for patients with bleeding disorders, some auto-immune diseases and uncontrolled diabetes.

The treatment itself generally only takes about 15-30 minutes, depending on the area we are treating however you will be required to come in 30 minutes prior to treatment for topical anaesthetic to be applied, to ensure you feel minimal discomfort during the treatment.

Areas that can be treated with PDO mono threads include, but are not limited to:

  •  Static lines/wrinkles in the upper face

  •  Eyebrow lift

  •  Upper lip lines

  •  Neck and jaw line

  •  Nasolabial folds

  •  Abdomen
